Transformer installation and substation work
KELM installs transformer substations for mines, water facilities, industrial plants and utility connections. Completed work includes 2MVA and 400kVA substations at Butimba, 800kVA substations at Mwazimba and Mawemiru, and 500kVA and 800kVA substations for VIRA. We supply distribution and power transformers from 25kVA to 15MVA.
Our work covers equipment layout, foundation requirements, transformer positioning, cable connections, earthing and protection. We test and commission the installation and prepare the handover records. We also relocate existing transformers and undertake servicing and repairs.
