Switchgear installation and protection testing

KELM installs and commissions MV and LV switchgear, metering and protection. Our work at Butimba included a ring main unit and protection equipment for the treatment-plant supply; our mining substation projects include switching and transformer protection.

We check equipment ratings against the system voltage, current and fault level, then complete cable connections, control wiring and protection checks. Testing covers switching operation, interlocks, indications and relay functions. We also replace or extend switchboards and investigate protection and control faults.
